Dear God…

How do I start to give you my praise?

You guided and protected me,

You fought my battles in your shining armor,

You preserved me under your mighty hand,

You showed me what real love is,

By loving me even when I didn’t love myself.

You kept me safe even when I didn’t want to be kept,

You provided when there was nothing left.

You raised me up when I hit rock bottom,

You took all my burdens and shielded me,

You gave me hope, assurance for the future,

Your son’s sacrifice on calvary was to set me free,

You did everything to let me know,

You were the best thing I could ever have and need.

 

 

And what did I do to thank you?

Nothing! I was ungrateful,

I sinned, mocked your name,

Gave in to my flesh, what a shame!

Hated, cursed, wanted to die,

Betrayed, fell in lust, wronged people,

I was so unworthy, not an example,

But you still love me!

 

 

I know I don’t deserve it,

But here is my redemption’s plea!

I want to be right by you,

I want to smell good in your presence,

I want people to see You in me,

I want to love like you love me,

I want to be worthy of everything,

I just want you Lord!

 

 

Dear God,

I just want to say Thank You!

Today I stand firm because I have you,

Today I’m alivee because you chose me,

I’m grateful for the life you gave me,

Grateful for the changes occuring in me,

You ways are bigger and far better than mine,

Take me as I am, with my humble heart,

As this year starts, may you be my first and my last.

You are my keeper, my provider and my sustainer.

All the glory and all the praise to you oh Lord.
