Conflict within me!

 

“Turn left,” says the mind,
“No, go right” says the heart,
They’re always fighting,
Each making a point,
Each wanting to have the final word,
I call it the great war.

But here I am stuck in between,
This unending rivalry,
This battle of uncertainties,
I end up doing things I hate,
I forget the good, I misbehave.

The mind, a slave to the law.
The flesh, a slave to sin.
Lord please save me!
Before this conflict within me,
Slowly sends me to my grave!
